こんなときのにほんご。シーズン2-32(2022/1/22配信)Hello Everyone. I’m Megumi. How are you going?
This Podcast telles you “simple Japanese conversation ". The theme of "A word on the spur of the moment!" Please listen to this Podcast!  みなさんこんにちは、めぐみです。いかがお過ごしですか。
このポッドキャストでは、簡単な日本語会話で咄嗟の一言をテーマにしています。ぜひ聞いてみてくださいね。 さて、今日のクイズはこちら。 Well, let's try today's quiz.  Which of these is the most polite expression of apology?  この中で、一番丁寧な謝罪表現はどれでしょうか。  １．すみません ２．申し訳ございません  ３．ごめんなさい ４．失礼いたしました  The correct answer is number 2.  正解は、２です。  As we learnt last week, "すみません" can be used as a mild apology, but in many cases it is less appropriate.
The only time you would use it is if you bump into someone on the street, for example.
"失礼いたしました" is also a polite way of saying 'I was not polite', but this doesn't mean that you are apologising, and it is not appropriate to use this alone in an apologetic situation.  先週学んだ通り、すみません、は軽い謝罪の意味でも使えますが、多くの場合、あまり適切ではありません。
これを使うのは、道でぶつかったりした場合などです。 "失礼いたしたしました"、も丁寧な言い方ではありますが、これは「私が礼儀を欠きました」という意味なので、謝罪を述べているわけではないのです。謝るシーンにおいて、これだけを伝えるのは適切ではありません。  In addition, the ability to distinguish between different uses can help prevent communication errors. Try and remember. これらを使い分けられるとコミュケーションエラーが起きるのを防げるのでぜひ注意してみてください。  それでは今日はここまで。また来週お会いしましょう！  That's all for today. Thank you for listening and see you next week. Bye!

こんなときのにほんご。シーズン２-33(2023/1/29配信)Hello Everyone. I’m Megumi. How are you going?
This Podcast telles you “simple Japanese conversation ". the theme of "A word on the spur of the moment!" Please listen to this Podcast! みなさんこんにちは、めぐみです。いかがお過ごしですか。
このポッドキャストでは、簡単な日本語会話で咄嗟の一言をテーマにしています。ぜひ聞いてみてくださいね。 さて、今日のクイズはこちらです。 Well, let's try today's quiz. What do many Japanese people say in response to 'ありがとうございます'? 「ありがとうございます」にたいして、多くの日本人は何とこたえるでしょうか。 Of course, "どういたしまして" is also correct, but in most cases Japanese people do not use this term. もちろん「どういたしまして」も正解なのですが、殆どの場合、日本人はこの言葉を使いません。For exsample 全然（大丈夫です） いえいえ 気にしないでください Depending on the time and occasion, but these words are often used. 時と場合によりますが、例えば、「全然」や「いえいえ」、「気にしないでください」、このような言葉がよく使われます。 It is difficult to explain why "どういたしまして" is not used very often, because the origin of the kanji is involved, but the most important reason is that it feels superior.
It is not wrong by any means, but it is worth remembering that Japanese people do not use the phrase "どういたしまして" very often. なぜ「どういたしまして」があまり使われないのかは、漢字の由来が関わってくるので説明が難しいのですが、一番の理由は上から目線に感じるからというのが大きいかと思います。
決して間違っているわけではないのですが、日本人はあまり「どういたしまして」という言葉を使わない、というのは覚えておいてもいいかもしれません。 それでは今日はここまで。また来週お会いしましょう！  That's all for today. Thank you for listening and see you next week. Bye!
